What is microblading?
Microblading is an artistic, semi-permanent type of cosmetic tattooing for the eyebrows. The pigment is deposited into the skin in hyper realistic hair strokes and a growth pattern that resembles your own. I use a disposable, sterile manual tool with very fine needles to place the pigment beneath the skin and the result is meant to be a flattering natural enhancement.
How long does it last
Everyone’s skin heals differently and results will vary. The pigment will last 18 months to 2 years and will gradually fade. An annual touch up is recommended to maintain the integrity of the hair strokes.
Does it hurt?
Topical anesthetics are used throughout the procedure to ensure you remain comfortable during your appointment.
Am I a candidate?
Microblading is not recommended for anyone who is currently:
The procedure is best suited for someone who has normal to dry skin. If you have oily skin, microblading will not heal well on your skin and a blade and shade option is best suited for you. If you have an ultra sensitive skin type, you may excessive bleeding during the procedure which may cause poor retention of color.
How do you choose shape/color?
This is something that we work on together! I like to take your personal preference into account when choosing both shape and color. I use an array of tools to measure and shape your brows according to your facial features to create a natural and beautiful end result.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
It is best to avoid alcohol for 24-48 hours prior to your appointment and any blood thinning medications for 72 hours These may cause excessive bleeding during the procedure and result in poor retention of pigment. Please avoid any sun or tanning bed exposure for 30 days prior and after your appointment.
What is the aftercare?
Aftercare is an extremely crucial part of how well your brows heal after your appointment. You will be provided with an aftercare kit that includes wipes and healing ointment. The wipes are specifically designed to remove the lymph that your brow will produce in the first few hours after your procedure. You will cleanse the treatment area and apply healing ointment 3 times a day for 10 days.
For 7 days after your procedure, you cannot apply any makeup to the treated area or do any excessive sweating (no working out).
Your aftercare instructions are discussed during your appointment and are also given to you to take home.
